Speech Therapy

What Is Speech Therapy?

Speech therapy involves the evaluation and treatment of disorders related to speech, swallowing and communication. Upon the referral of a physician, licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work with patients to address cognitive and motor disabilities, helping to restore essential functions. This care often includes the development of supplementary language systems through augmentative communication devices and provides vital education for both patients and their families.
