Raleigh General Hospital has earned reaccreditation as an American College of Cardiology (ACC) Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI, extending the hospital’s accreditation through 2029.
The reaccreditation recognizes Raleigh General’s continued commitment to meeting rigorous standards for evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
Hospitals earning ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation demonstrate expertise in treating heart attack patients, with primary PCI services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Accredited facilities follow coordinated processes for patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care, while maintaining partnerships with referring facilities to ensure timely access to cardiac care.
“Raleigh General Hospital has shown a strong commitment to delivering outstanding heart care to the Beckley community,” said Steven B. Deitelzweig, MD, MMM, FACC, chair of the ACC Accreditation Management Board. “ACC Accreditation Services is proud to recognize Raleigh General with Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation.”
“Maintaining this accreditation is about more than meeting a set of standards. It represents our team’s ongoing commitment to being ready when a cardiac emergency happens,” said David Brash, CEO of Raleigh General Hospital. “We are proud of the physicians, nurses and team members whose expertise and dedication help ensure patients in our region have access to timely, high-quality heart care.”
Raleigh General Hospital is one of only three hospitals in the state with Accreditation from the ACC for Cardiac Cath Lab with PCI.
