Dr. Mark Vanderland Joins Raleigh General Hospital

Raleigh General Hospital today announced that Mark Vanderland, MD, an interventional cardiologist, has joined its medical staff and Raleigh General Cardiac and Vascular Center, expanding access to interventional cardiology services for patients in Beckley and surrounding communities.

Dr. Vanderland joins Raleigh General’s established cardiac team as the hospital continues to expand cardiovascular services available in the Beckley area.

Dr. Vanderland recently completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship through Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University/ChristianaCare, where he served as chief resident, following his internal medicine residency at Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia.

He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. MV CV 02.16.2026.docx Dr. Vanderland is board certified in internal medicine and also holds certifications from the American Board of Echocardiography and Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
