Raleigh General Hosts Donate Life Flag Raising in Honor of National Donate Life Month

May 26, 2026

April is National Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and honoring the lifesaving impact donors make every day.

As part of this observance, Raleigh General Hospital will host a Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, April 3 at 1 p.m. at the hospital fountain area. Employees, community members and partners are invited to attend as the hospital recognizes the gift of life and those who have made organ donation possible.

“Organ donation has the power to save and heal lives,” said David Brash, CEO of Raleigh General Hospital. “National Donate Life Month is an opportunity to honor donors and their families while encouraging others to consider registering to become donors themselves.”

More than 100,000 people across the United States are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant. One donor can save up to eight lives and enhance many more through tissue and eye donation.

Raleigh General Hospital encourages community members to register as organ donors and make a lasting difference. To sign up or learn more, visit RegisterMe.org./wv
