Tiffany Cook recognized for demonstrating compassion and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Beckley, W.Va. (Aril 28, 2021) – Raleigh General Hospital recently announced that Tiffany Cook has been recognized as the hospital’s 2021 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

 In September of 2017 her life changed forever when she lost son Jaxon due to complications from 1p36 deletion syndrome, a genetic disorder he was diagnosed with in 2015.  In her grief, God spoke to her heart, giving her family a mission to start "The Eat Cake Foundation" to help the hurting in our communities.  The foundation is responsible for feeding, clothing and helping those in need. Tiffany’s impact is seen in our community and within the hospital. She is a positive light to our hospital and so deserving of this honor.

Each hospital winner, including Tiffany, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2021 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August, to which Tiffany and all hospital winners are invited to attend.
