Critical Care Units
If your loved one has been admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) or the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) for a serious or potentially serious problem, it is our goal to give your loved one the best care possible.
The staff realizes visitation is important to both the patient and family. For this reason we have visiting hours allowing the immediate family (husband, wife, father, mother, sister, brother, children and significant other) time with their loved one while also providing the patient ample time for rest and nursing care.
Visitation is limited to 2 visitors at a time. Since patients are ill, only immediate family should visit, Children under 11 years old are not allowed into critical care areas due to the possibility of infection. Exceptions may be made based on the patient's condition. The visitor's waiting area is open 24 hours a day for your convenience and include a restroom, television, telephone and vending machine. We ask that you limit phone calls to 10 minutes.
- 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
- 1:00 - 1:30 p.m.
- 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.
- 5:30 - 6:00 p.m.
- 8:30 - 9:00 p.m.
In a continuing effort to keep you informed and to provide patient confidentiality, information will be given only to immediate family members by phone. All other calls will be directed to visiting family. If possible we ask one family member be designated to call for updates and keep other family and friends informed. Please remember that each time we stop to answer the phone, it takes away time from your loved one's bedside. We also ask calls not be made between 6:00 - 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This is shift change for the units and more complete information may be obtained after these hours. Family members visiting or waiting to visit may be contacted at these numbers:
- CCU Waiting Area 256-4059
- SICU Waiting Area 256-4058
Thank you for your cooperation as we strive to provide your loved one with the best care possible.
